randomizer stinks play the game the way its intended

well it made sense for soulsilver because he had already played the same game like 5 times if he plays black/white hes going to get pokemons hes never seen and he doesnt know what spawns on each route or what trainers have so theres no point to making it random
is it possible to randomize pokemons but not moves so grass pokemons have grass attacks instead of hydro pump, theres no strategy if they can one hit the type they are weak against

The good thing about randomizers is that they generally make the game harder. Any random encounter could potentially end a run. And Ron Paul did lose a few Pokemon to the randomizer fucking him with some random move out of left field. The only reason he was breezing through the game so easily was because he was running around with an Arceus 25 levels overleveled.
The solution is to ban the use of legendaries and cap leveling. You could for example follow this: https://nuzlockeuniversity.ca/2022/01/18/hardcore-nuzlocke-level-caps-by-generation/ and if your pokemon is above the allowed level, you're not allowed to use them until you beat the gym. It prevents him from grinding and cheesing with a Lucky Egg.

Randomizers are only interesting for people who know the game and know the pokemon.
Ron Paul is a huge noob who barely knows anything past the original generation. The randomization makes it so that he constantly has to look pokemon up so that he doesn't lose one out of nowhere.

Maybe he would have actually been able to beat the Elite Four for once without cheating if he actually did go through the game again and was a bit more careful. But no, that's too boring for you so you made him learn the game all over again.

The level cap would force him to use more than one pokemon when fighting. Which would force him into more spots where he could potentially lose his pokemon if he doesn't allocate his EXP appropriately. So it's a good idea either way.

Even if he does look up the pokemon, the randomized moves would make it so the opponent could randomly throw out a move that could potentially kill him out of nowhere. The whole idea is that it's supposed to be a challenge. He's not playing regular vanilla Pokemon for 6 year olds.
